This week in the workshop felt like a real step forward. One of the biggest upgrades was installing a larger air compressor. One of those behind-the-scenes improvements that quietly changes everything. Tools run smoother, workflows feel more consistent, and there’s a sense that the space itself is growing up alongside the work being created in it. It’s not the flashiest addition, but it’s the kind that makes everything else better. Big shout-out to Muffin for the hookup.
On the creative side, a fresh batch of tafoni pieces came to life, this time leaning into some new, more vibrant color directions. There’s something satisfying about experimenting within a form that already feels familiar while pushing tones a little further. Each piece feels like part of an evolving conversation, and it’s exciting to see that language expand. Certainly more computer work to come, and perhaps even a deep-dive into the process. That will have to wait for another time.
There’s also been a growing energy around getting these pieces out into the world. The question has shifted from “what to make next?” to “where should this live?”. Local markets, small galleries, and community spaces are all starting to feel like real possibilities, and there’s a lot of anticipation in figuring out the right first steps.
